Hi.
I'm Bereavement Mom.
ABOUT ME
I’m Susie Shaw—a writer, speaker, and mother learning to live after profound loss. My son William died in a ski accident in 2019, and since then, I’ve been writing through my grief. I’m still a mom to him, even though he’s not physically here.
This space, Bereavement Mom, is where I share letters, stories, and the hard-won wisdom that comes from parenting with one foot in two worlds. If you’re here, you may know grief too. I hope you find something that makes you feel a little less alone.
SPEAKING
I speak about parenting after loss, grief-informed communities, and building meaning through service.
Recent engagements include:
-
ABC News feature on family grief
-
NPR segment on continuing bonds
-
Colgate University: “Moving Forward After Loss”
-
Intuit: Grief in the Workplace
